Blu-ray News: Dario Argento's Opera (Deluxe Edition)

One of Argento's last great movies, the bloody and demented 'Opera', is finally getting a proper English friendly release. Brought to you by cult US label Scorpion Releasing, this is a stacked edition, and should be the final word on the classic giallo, I can't wait.

U.S. label Scorpion Releasing has revealed the newly commissioned cover art for its upcoming Deluxe Collector's Edition of Italian director Dario Argento's film Opera (1987), starring Cristina Marsillach, Ian Charleson, Urbano Barberini, Daria Nicolodi, and Coralina Cataldi-Tassoni. The release is expected to arrive on the market early next year.

The label has also revealed some of the supplemental features that will be included on the upcoming release. (Complete list of supplemental features has not yet been finalized).

Synopsis: When a young opera singer takes over the leading role in an avant-garde presentation of Verdi's Macbeth, she triggers the madness of a crazed fan who repeatedly the diva to watch the brutal murders of her friends. Will the woman's recurring nightmare hold the key to the identity of this psychopath or does an even more horrific evil lay waiting in the wings?
